Tim Can't Do it Alone...He needs your help!
With his teammates in 2008, Tim won an Olympic Silver Medal in Men's Saber team, the first medal in the event since 1948. Now he has his sights set on winning the first gold medal in US Men's Saber History and he needs YOUR HELP to achieve his dream!
Olympians like Tim are amateur athletes and don't draw any salary from their athletic activities. As a result, Olympians in the United States depend upon corporate sponsorship and individual support from their fellow Americans to pay for their training.
The cost to compete on an even playing field with the European and Asian countries that are fully funded by their governments are high. An athlete has to travel up to 15 times a year to countries around the world, and training costs include fencing lessons, equipment, personal training, physical therapy and costs of living. Tim's season includes 6 hours a day of training and competing up to 60 days out the country.
By supporting Tim you are also not just helping him make his Olympic Dream come true, you are also supporting all of his efforts to help others achieve their dreams. Tim speaks regularly at schools and has spoken to over 6000 children since returning from Beijing encouraging them to dream big. In addition, he is an Athlete ambassador for the charity Right To Play and the National Spokesperson for Kid Fitness an organization working to fight childhood obesity.
