Dear German Fencing, Please Lend Team USA a Van!

Not only do the Germans have the largest fencing center in the world…

They also have the largest fleet of fencing vans I’ve ever seen!

Having Mercedes, Samsung and a whole host of other companies as sponsors of your federation must be nice!

Members of Team USA Fencing training for Worlds in Tauber, Germany

Hi from Tauberbischofsheim, Germany!

We’ve (James Williams, Ben Igoe, Mike Etropolski, myself and Coach Yury Gelman) been in Germany for 4 days now training with the German, Italian and Romanian national teams.    The training center here is probably the largest in the world and we’ve been enjoying ourselves.   Fencing a lot of matches against different people and enjoying the fresh air of this small town.

I will post pictures of the training center later.

There is a big pre-worlds camp competition this weekend and the Canadian national team along with Daryl Homer and a few other folks are flying in for it.  Should be a great warm up for Worlds.(and the national competition we have next week in Cincinnati!)

Tomorrow we are resting and touring a bit before the competition!

Jesus's Last McSupper. Is this odd or what?

This was hanging in a McDonalds restaurant in Germany…

Thoughts?

Which celebrity (Ronald McDonald maybe?) plays Judas in the McDonald’s version of the last supper?

Thank You New Jersey Fencers! (Current and Future!)

Berkeley Heights, NJ — The Fencing Masters Promo tour rolled to the Summit Medical Center Health and Sports Festival to run fencing clinics and sign autographs.

Jeff Spear. Daria Schneider, Alejandro Rojas and myself had a fantastic time teaching young kids to fence!  We also had assistance from some great young and enthusiastic Jersey Fencers!  Garrett Blakeslee along with his friend Cole and Kip helped us most of the day and the crew from Governor Livingston High school (coached by Vince Paragano) were also a HUGE help.

It was also just fun to meet all of them!  The team is pictured above: Lauren Santullo (foil), Alison Kao (Saber), Brittin Boenning (Saber), you, Vince Paragano (Head Coach), Jake Tyler (Epee), Ian Fan (Saber), Team Captain Andy Sui (Epee) and Lauren Gonnelli (Epee).

Below are some more pictures from the day! GO FENCING MASTERS!
